Job Description:

Collects and verifies information required when physicians request additional privileges within approved criteria. Maintains a thorough knowledge of the contents of the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations. Serves as a resource person to the Medical Staff and hospital personnel on issues pertaining to the Bylaws. Other duties as assigned. Documents competency to assure criteria are met and formulates draft criteria when no criteria exist. Monitors and updates the Medical Staff database and distributes updates regarding the medical staff and their privileges on a monthly basis. Prepares the monthly Medical Staff calendar in a timely fashion. Coordinates the appointment, reappointment, and privileging process for AdventHealth in a timely and accurate manner. Authorizes access to the hospital’s computerized services. Serves as a liaison between medical staff officers and the medical staff by gathering information and researching issues.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Computer literacy including proficiency in Credentialing Software, Word, Windows, and database management.
• Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with a variety of professionals with a customer service outlook.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Access.
• Knowledge of primary source verification processes and procedures.
• Knowledge of Bylaws, Rules and Regulations to serve as a resource person to the medical staff and hospital departments.
• Customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize projects, and manage time efficiently and effectively.

Education:
• Associate [Preferred]
• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Field of Study:
• in business, healthcare or related field
• in healthcare or related field

Work Experience:
• 2+ administrative support in a healthcare setting [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:
• Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$41,096.13 - $76,427.64
