YOUR NEW ROLE AS A TRANSPORTATION MANAGER

This is a full-time dispatching and driving management position.

As a Transportation Manager, you will spend your day directing the dispatching, routing, and tracking of transportation vehicles to keep everything moving efficiently. You will plan, organize, and manage the daily work of transport drivers to ensure it is completed in line with company requirements and FMCSA guidelines. Your role will include ensuring department compliance with DOT, federal, and state regulations, checking this regularly to maintain safety and accountability. Each day, you will monitor driver logs, verify pre-trip truck inspections, and ensure drivers comply with HOS regulations. You will train drivers to deliver at the highest standards of professionalism-uniforms neat, deliveries accurate, paperwork completed, and timing between stops reasonable.

You will also manage third-party carriers, oversee truck maintenance, handle breakdowns, and verify all daily truck departures. Understanding shipping paperwork, coordinating backhauls, and monitoring hours of operation at both internal and external locations will all be part of your routine.

What We're Looking For In a Transportation Manager

  • At least 21 years old
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Valid CDL A license
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office with proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including standing, walking, speaking, hearing, frequent sitting, data entry, and regularly moving up to 20 pounds
