Responsibilities The physician assistant (PA) primarily focuses on evaluating, diagnosing, and managing musculoskeletal conditions without performing surgery, working closely with orthopedic surgeons to develop treatment plans including physical therapy, medication management, injections, and patient education, while also performing comprehensive patient assessments, ordering diagnostic tests, and overseeing post-operative care for patients. Position Responsibilities/Standards General Responsibilities: Attend department, clinic, or company meetings as required. Consistently work in a positive and cooperative manner with fellow staff members. Consistently demonstrate the ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary. Complete required annual in-service programs and education as required. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of all company policies and procedures. Adheres to established facility safety requirements and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Records attendance and time punches in UKG consistently. Maintains accurate and strict confidentiality of patient information in electronic and manual systems as established by regulations and practice policies. Duties: Conduct patient assessments: Taking detailed medical histories, and performing physical examinations to identify musculoskeletal issues like sprains, strains, arthritis, and tendonitis. Orders and interprets X-rays, MRIs, and other diagnostic tests to confirm diagnoses. Develop personalized treatment plans based on diagnosis, including medication management, physical therapy referrals, bracing, and injection therapies. Explain diagnoses, treatment options, and post-care instructions to patients clearly. Manages minor wounds related to musculoskeletal injuries. Administers pain injections under physician supervision. Monitoring patients post-procedure or post-surgery, managing pain, and adjusting bracing as needed. Communicates findings and treatment plans with orthopedic surgeons, assisting with surgical decision-making for complex cases. Manages patient schedules, documenting medical records, and coordinating care with other healthcare providers. Qualifications Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current licensure in the state of Ohio. Excellent communication and patient education skills. Must be able to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team. Knowledge of orthopedic procedures and post-operative care protocols is strongly preferred. USD $85,000.00/Yr.
