Responsibilities To provide pastoral care to the residents, families and staff on one or more nursing units. Essential Functions Provides Eucharist as requested by residents and patients Provides Eucharist for St. Elizabeth residents in their apartments as needed. Assists with First Friday Holy Hour prayers in the Chapel and other prayer services as requested by Director of Pastoral Care. Provide Eucharist to residents and patients in the house one Sunday per month. Assesses the spiritual needs of residents, providing individual attention, support and presence as needed. Assures availability pastoral care to families, residents and staff for spiritual and emotional support. Plans and participates in staff support groups, conferences, etc. Provides pastoral care to patients and families, offering communion and/or one to one pastoral visit by unit chaplain or designated minister. Participates in staff support group and weekly care conferences. Functions as a member of the Pastoral Care team by participation and cooperation in department management, sharing responsibility in meeting and activities of Pastoral Care and Stella Maris. Serves on committees and attends meetings as requested by Director of Pastoral Care, Administration and Unit Managers. Plans and participates in staff/family support groups. Assists staff in handling crisis situations with residents/families. Participates in weekly staff patient care/team conferences, programming of activities on units. Makes visits to hospitalized residents from Stella Maris/SEH as requested. Consults with nursing and caregiving staff to assist residents encountering difficulties. Offers pastoral presence to residents exhibiting signs of depression or cognitive loss. Follows up on residents who have received pastoral care support. Assists with First Friday Holy Hour prayers in the Chapel and other prayer services as requested by Director of Pastoral Care. On - call one week a month for afterhours Pastoral Care support. Requirements Bachelor's Degree Licensed Clinical Professional Counslelor or Clinical Pastoral Education preferred Master's Degree preferred Minimum three (3) years experience To provide pastoral care to the residents, families and staff on one or more nursing units.
