Job description

Consultant – Assessment for Talent, Risk & Safety Human Capital Solutions at Aon helps organisations make better workforce decisions by bringing together insights on talent, leadership, wellbeing, risk and safety. Our work supports clients to build organisations that are productive, sustainable and safe - where people can perform at their best and risks to individuals and organisations are actively identified and managed. Talent Solutions is a critical pillar of Human Capital Solutions, sitting alongside leadership, workforce analytics, rewards and wellbeing. We help clients make sound, evidence-based decisions across the employee lifecycle - attraction, selection, development and performance - while strengthening the behavioural and human factors that underpin safety, resilience and organisational effectiveness. Within Talent Solutions, Assessment Solutions provides the psychometric and behavioural insight that enables organisations to select, develop and deploy people in ways that improve performance outcomes and reduce people-related risk. Aon’s Assessment Solutions undertake millions of assessments globally each year, supporting clients across industries, geographies and workforce contexts with robust, defensible and ethical assessment practices. This includes pre-hire assessments, identifying and developing high potentials, understanding digital skills and agility, as well as tailored assessment solutions. Aon's Assessment Solutions undertakes 15 million assessments each year in 90 countries and 40 languages. Aon is in the business of better decisions At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world. As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive team and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed. About the role As a consultant in the Assessment Solutions team, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering high quality and effective assessments solutions for our clients. Each day is an opportunity to develop new skills and help clients to make better decisions through psychometric insights. You will have the exciting opportunity to apply psychometric assessment to improve outcomes across talent management and risk and safety. This role applies psychology and assessment to strengthening selection, development and role-fit decisions, whilst also proactively advising on selection of assessment diagnostics and risk interventions to reduce safety incidents, fatigue-related risk and psychosocial harm. You will work with experienced practitioners and stakeholders across risk, safety, people, assessment and wellbeing disciplines, contributing to project delivery while building depth of expertise in psychology-led assessment and advisory work. What the day will look like Support client engagements through the delivery of assessment, selection and development solutions aligned to broader Talent and Human Capital strategies Partner with consultants to design assessment approaches that inform talent decisions and contribute to risk and safety controls in safety-critical or complex environments Analyse and interpret psychometric and behavioural data, translating results into clear, practical insights for non-psychologist stakeholders Contribute to the selection and application of assessment tools as part of evidence-based workforce, fatigue and psychosocial risk interventions Support the technical setup and quality assurance of assessment projects, including platform configuration and solution testing Respond to client and candidate queries with professionalism and clarity, strengthening confidence in ethical and defensible assessment practice Contribute to training, proposals and demonstrations that build client capability and understanding of assessment talent decisions Collaborate with colleagues across Talent, Risk, Safety and Wellbeing to deliver integrated, behaviourally informed solutions Maintain professional currency through research, supervision, peer review and continuous learning How this opportunity is different This role sits at the intersection of psychology, talent, behaviour and safety - a space where few early career opportunities exist. It is designed for an emerging organisational psychologist who wants to apply evidence-based assessment not only to improve hiring and development decisions, but also to influence safer work, better role design and more sustainable performance. Unlike traditional assessment roles, this position is embedded within Human Capital Solutions, giving you exposure to how talent decisions influence wellbeing, operational risk and organisational outcomes. You will be supported through supervision and peer learning while progressively building autonomy and advisory confidence in a consulting environment. The role offers a unique foundation for a career in applied human capital, workforce risk, or behavioural consulting - grounded in strong psychometric practice and real-world impact. Skills and experience that will lead to success Essential Postgraduate qualification in Organisational Psychology (or equivalent) with eligibility for professional registration Around 2 years’ relevant experience in risk & safety or assessment-related roles (e.g., human factors, Workplace Health & Safety, selection, development, or related contexts) Foundational knowledge of psychometric assessment principles, interpretation and ethical use Ability to communicate assessment insights clearly in writing and verbally, tailored to non-psychologist stakeholders Analytical, organised work style and a natural problem-solver Highly regarded Exposure to risk & safety, human factors, fatigue and/or psychosocial risk work (including through projects, placements or adjacent roles) or safety-critical or regulated industries Experience working with Risk, Safety, Operations and/or People & Culture/HR teams How we support our colleagues In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage an inclusive workforce. Plus, our agile environment allows you to manage your wellbeing and work/life balance, ensuring you can be your best self at Aon. Furthermore, all colleagues enjoy two “Global Wellbeing Days” each year, encouraging you to take time to focus on yourself. We offer a variety of working style solutions for our colleagues as well. Our continuous learning culture inspires and equips you to learn, share and grow, helping you achieve your fullest potential. As a result, at Aon, you are more connected, more relevant, and more valued. Aon values an innovative and inclusive workplace where all colleagues feel empowered to be their authentic selves.
