Job description
The ANZ Rewards Lead is the organisation’s senior expert responsible for supporting with delivering the reward strategy. This role provides deep subject matter expertise in remuneration, benefits, recognition, and reward governance, ensuring competitiveness, compliance, and alignment with business objectives.
Operating as a strategic advisor to executives, senior HR leaders, the role leads complex reward initiatives, compensation frameworks, job architecture, policy design, and annual remuneration cycles across Australia and New Zealand.
How you’ll make a difference
Strategic Reward Leadership
- Support with delivering the organisation’s total reward strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and market trends.
- Serve as the principal adviser to key stakeholders on remuneration frameworks, pay equity, and strategic reward decisions.
- Drive innovation in remuneration, benefits, recognition, and wellbeing programs.
Remuneration Governance & Compliance
- Lead remuneration governance, including policy frameworks, delegations, and audit processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Australian and New Zealand legislation (e.g., Fair Work Act, Modern Awards, NES, Superannuation Guarantee, KiwiSaver).
- Undertake Gender pay reporting and analysis for Australia and New Zealand
- Provide oversight on job evaluation, position descriptions, and organisational job architecture.
Compensation Programs & Cycles
- Lead annual remuneration review cycles, including salary benchmarking, market analysis, and remuneration modelling.
- Manage remuneration data integrity and analytics, including reward dashboards for data insights.
Benefits & Recognition Programs
- Evaluate, enhance, and manage benefits offerings, such as salary packaging, wellbeing initiatives, leave programs, and employee recognition frameworks.
- Lead vendor management and negotiations related to benefits providers.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide expert guidance on remuneration matters including offers, retention strategies, and market movements.
- Present business cases and recommendations to key stakeholders, leveraging data-driven insights and aligning proposals with business priorities.
- Influence stakeholder decisions by building relationships to advise on remuneration strategies and addressing concerns.

- 7+ years relevant experience
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to manage, consolidate, and validate complex data.
- Expertise in Australian and New Zealand legislation, reward governance and compliance.
- Experience supporting compensation, rewards, financial modelling, or other cyclical People programs.
- Familiarity with job architecture frameworks (e.g. Mercer, AON, and Strategic pay)
- Staying informed on emerging trends to adapt strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
- Experience using AI in more advanced applications, such as data modelling, forecasting, or within HR, Compensation, or Finance processes.
