Job description

What are we looking for

We are looking for a Senior AI Customer Engineer with deep Cloud & AI Data Platform. Candidates will be supporting customers in building secure, scalable, and AI-ready solutions on Microsoft Azure.

What they will be doing

  • This is a customer-facing role and the AI Customer Engineers will guide organizations through their data modernization and AI journeys by leading architectural design sessions, proof-of-concept initiatives, and production deployments for mission-critical workloads.
  • Proactive technical support, with the goal of engaging customers early in their R&D lifecycle.
  • Will provide early guidance, best practices, and insights on how Microsoft AI products are intended to be used and help them avoid major technical blockers later in development
  • Their focus will be on ensuring performance, resiliency, and security across solutions that drive measurable business value Role Focus & Responsibilities: • 80-90% customer-facing, 10-15% research
  • Create presentations and technical materials to improve customer understanding
  • Act as a proactive partner rather than purely reactive support
  • Be pulled in initially for support requests, then continue engagement proactively • A key objective is to start conversations early, even when a full solution isn't yet defined, to:
  • Reduce future break/fix scenarios
  • Make developers' lives easier
  • Avoid escalations to reactive Azure Support later in the lifecycle. Not responsible for providing reactive support.
  • Providing solutions, insights that are not contained within their public-facing documentation, patterns seen across other customers, etc.
  • Not expected to provide hands-on solution delivery/implementation to customers. Hands-on skills/coding backgrounds will be helpful to develop POCs and demos for customers and has proven beneficial to others hired into the role in the past. Data & AI Expectations

This role is 100% Microsoft and Azure product-focused.

Key expectations: • Strong grounding in Azure-specific services

  • Solid understanding of AI + big data processing, including: • ETL pipelines - Microsoft's solutions to support a wide range of data sources.
  • Experience building: • Knowledge bases
  • AI applications using Azure AI Search and Azure AI Foundry
