• Execute structural welding on vital shipyard assemblies including frames, decks, bulkheads, and foundations.
• Utilize SMAW (Stick), FCAW, or MIG processes to weld carbon steel and stainless steel, based on project needs.
• Interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings with precision.
• Prepare materials through grinding, fitting, and cleaning prior to welding.
• Ensure weld quality adheres to shipyard and inspection standards.
• Maintain a safe working environment in confined spaces, elevated areas, and industrial settings.
• Work collaboratively with shipfitters and production teams to meet project schedules.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in shipyard or heavy structural welding preferred.
• Ability to pass structural weld tests as required by the project.
• Proficient in welding carbon steel; experience with stainless steel is a plus.
• Capable of reading blueprints and understanding weld symbols effectively.
• Physically fit to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Familiarity with OSHA shipyard safety practices.
• Dependable transportation and consistent attendance are a must.
