Senior Web Developer

Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Web Developer to strengthen our application delivery capabilities on the AWS Fleethub platform.

In this role, you will design and develop enterprise‑grade web applications, guide architectural decisions at application level, and guide and mentor mid‑level web developers. You will work closely with AWS Application Developers, the Application Development Architect, and the Technical Lead/Scrum Master to deliver scalable, secure, and business‑critical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Web Application Development & Architecture

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise‑grade web applications using modern Java and frontend frameworks based on business and product requirements
• Maintain existing applications, including troubleshooting, bug fixes, refactoring, and performance improvements
• Define and implement microservices‑based architectures and integration patterns
• Ensure application scalability, performance, and maintainability
• Contribute to technical design decisions in alignment with overall AWS and application architecture

Backend & Frontend Development

• Develop backend services using Java 8+ and frameworks such as Jakarta EE, Spring, or Quarkus
• Build and integrate frontend applications using frameworks like Docker Swarm, Amazon Elastic Kubernetes, ReactJS, Angular, or similar
• Implement and consume REST APIs and SOAP Web Services, supporting JSON, XML, and messaging patterns

Integration & Platform Collaboration

• Work closely with AWS Application Developers to integrate web applications with backend AWS services
• Leverage messaging, event‑driven systems, and APIs to support complex business workflows
• Collaborate with DevSecOps teams on CI/CD, security, and deployment practices
• Work with global, cross‑functional teams

Technical Leadership & Mentoring

• Coach and mentor mid‑level web developers, providing guidance on design, coding standards, and best practices
• Review code, designs, and pull requests to ensure quality and consistency

Agile Delivery & Continuous Improvement

• Work closely with the Technical Lead / Scrum Master on sprint planning and delivery
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and promote TDD, DevOps, and continuous improvement practices

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field
• 5+ years of enterprise Java development experience
• Advanced expertise in Java 8+ and frameworks such as Jakarta EE, Spring, or Quarkus
• Solid experience with frontend frameworks (Docker Swarm, Amazon Elastic Kubernetes, ReactJS, Vue, Angular, or similar)
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, SOAP services, JSON, XML, and integration patterns
• Proven experience designing and implementing microservices architectures
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, Hudson, GitHub Actions, or similar)
• Experience with cloud environments, containerization, orchestration,
• Strong communication, organization, and time‑management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python and messaging platforms such as Kafka, ActiveMQ, or similar
• Familiarity with ETL processes and data integration
• Exposure to multiple infrastructure and deployment environments
• Exposure to AI‑related use cases
• Strong business awareness and understanding of enterprise processes
