Job Overview – Accounting Analyst (Financial Services)
Compensation: $90,000 – $110,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-office)
Atlantic Group is hiring an Accounting Analyst (Financial Services) in New York, NY for our client, supporting financial reporting, month-end close, and SEC reporting within an investment management environment. In this role, you will focus on corporate accounting, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation while utilizing Excel and reporting tools such as Workiva. The ideal candidate will partner with accounting, audit, and operations teams to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities as the Accounting Analyst (Financial Services):
- Month-End Close: Perform reconciliations and support monthly close to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with accounting policies.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial statements and supporting schedules.
- SEC Reporting Support: Contribute to quarterly and annual reporting, including data validation and disclosures.
- SOX Compliance: Support internal controls and compliance testing, including documentation and process validation.
Qualifications for the Accounting Analyst (Financial Services):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required (CPA preferred).
- Experience: 2–5 years of public accounting or public and industry experience within financial services is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience within financial services, including exposure to real estate, REIT, or fixed income products, is required.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with reporting tools such as Workiva, Aladdin, or Clearwater Analytics is preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Demonstrates strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
