You will support the delivery of utility scale power capacity through strategic collaborations with electric utilities, RTOs/ISOs, and other energy enablers. The right candidate thrives in ambiguity and takes ownership, from strategic thinking to hands-on execution in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment. - Support senior team members in evaluation of utilities capabilities to meet Tract’s needs, especially related to scope/design, schedule, and budget for large capital projects.
- Lead cross-functional technical teams of internal and external stakeholders. Effectively track, manage, and report on active project progress and financials. Proactively identify and mitigate risks to cost and schedule.
- Establish and grow business and technical relationships that contribute to the success of Tract in key markets.
- Provide portfolio-level analysis of project status for communication with senior leaders.
- Support the creation and execution of a power supply development program that is optimized across time, cost, reliability, sustainability and points the organization toward future business opportunities.
- Support Tract’s Land Strategy team on early engagement with utilities in identified markets.
Required Experience Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of demonstrated energy project management experience in any of the following domains: construction, operations, project finance, rate analysis, technical project management, transmission, generation, or distribution development.
- Demonstrated expertise collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to power infrastructure or capacity commitments.
- Ability to translate technical engineering concepts to executives, potential investors, and/or Board members.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Experience with contracting and contract management.
- Economic analysis, engineering or operational familiarity with battery storage, fuel cell, microgrid, grid-scale wind/solar, or similar energy technologies.
- Substation engineering, medium voltage, or high voltage project management experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of electric utility development in regulated or deregulated markets for the following: RTOs/ISOs, investor-owned utilities, electric cooperatives, and county/municipally owned utilities.
- Utility account management, regulatory, or economic development experience.
- Demonstrated success writing and delivering due diligence reports for future substation and/or transmission projects for utilities, owner’s engineers, and/or EPC vendors.
- Track record of successfully collaborating with utility consultants or electrical utilities to plan, design, or contract for energy infrastructure.
