Job description

We are seeking a Forward Deployed Product Manager to drive the development of mission-critical platforms at the intersection of complex hardware and high-stakes operations. This role is for a product leader who obsesses over performance and "field-ready" polish, ensuring that the capabilities delivered to operators are as robust and intuitive as they are technically advanced.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Own the Product Roadmap: Lead end-to-end product strategy and make hard prioritization calls for technical platforms, moving beyond project management to true product ownership.
  • Utilize advanced methodologies (Jobs-to-be-Done, Continuous Interviewing, etc.) to identify the right operational problems before engineering the solution.
  • Transform vague operator needs and unrefined inputs into crisp one-pagers, PRDs, and actionable acceptance criteria that engineers can execute against.
  • Obsessively track and reduce the steps required for a fleet operator to perform their job, dreaming of ways to optimize every interaction.
  • Act as a "master teacher," breaking down complex technical concepts for everyone from on-site fleet operators to high-level admirals.
  • Ensure what is shipped matches what was promised and tested, chasing down requirement ambiguity rather than papering over it.
  • Work on-site at customer locations as required to reinforce your understanding of the operational environment and gather direct feedback.

Required Experience

  • 4+ years of Product Management experience specifically with technical products or platforms (owning a roadmap and prioritization).
  • Deep fluency in modern discovery toolkits and a track record of identifying user pain points in constrained environments.
  • Strong ability to contribute to planning cycles and understand the nuances of software development lifecycles.
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills, capable of running structured interviews and presenting at formal program reviews.
  • Comfort operating where feedback loops are long and the cost of building the wrong solution is exceptionally high.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience supporting DoD programs or working directly with U.S. Navy customers.
  • Experience with IoT devices, sensors, Digital Signal Processing (DSP), or acoustics.
  • Background in geospatial analysis and GIS experience.
  • Experience working within multi-team, collaborative engineering environments.
