The Laboratory for Cognition and Neural Stimulation (LCNS) is a cutting-edge neuromodulation lab using transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and transcranial electrical stimulation (tES) to advance the fields of cognitive neurology and cognitive neuroscience at the University of Pennsylvania, Perelman School of Medicine.https://www.med.upenn.edu/lcns/
Our mission is to study structure-function relationships in the brain that give rise to cognition and healthy brain function and to translate this knowledge into the development of novel therapies for patients with cognitive deficits due to stroke and neurodegenerative disease.
Position contingent upon funding.
Job Description
The LCNS is seeking a Clinical Research Assistant to support clinical research operations across multiple active NIH-funded clinical trials. The Clinical Research Assistant will assist with patient recruitment, coordinate study visit
activities, perform data coding and accurate data entry, and administer noninvasive brain stimulation interventions (TMS and tES) to participants enrolled in clinical research studies. Additional responsibilities include maintaining regulatory documentation, managing lab equipment, and ordering supplies.
Job Responsibilities
- Screening, recruiting, and scheduling subject visits
- Administer noninvasive brain stimulation (TMS and tES) to participants enrolled in clinical trials
- Assist with MRI data collection
- Perform data scoring and accurate data entry
- Maintain regulatory documents
- Order lab supplies
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Grad/GE Degree and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Experience working in a hospital, clinical setting, or research is strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a research team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with individuals with cognitive or communication impairments is preferred
- Position requires a highly motivated, detail oriented, and confident individual with interests in psycholinguistics, neuromodulation, or therapeutics. The ability to communicate with patients, physicians, medical staff, and caregivers respectfully and effectively is essential. Strong organizational skills is required.

$19.47 - $21.36 Hourly RateSalary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job’s level.
