Job description

About the Role

A growing, well‑established organization is seeking a Customer Finance Manager to serve as a strategic partner between Finance and Sales. This role supports U.S. commercial operations by providing deep customer‑level financial insights, evaluating profitability, and guiding leadership on pricing, trade spend, and forecasting decisions.

The ideal candidate combines strong financial acumen with excellent communication skills and enjoys working cross‑functionally with Sales, Supply Chain, and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Sales leadership to analyze customer profitability and advise on trading terms, pricing, promotions, and margin impacts.
  • Monitor sales forecasts and actuals; support demand planning, S&OP processes, and revenue planning.
  • Manage financial schedules for SG&A, trade allowances, customer returns, and other key customer‑related metrics.
  • Lead monthly close activities related to customer financials, including variance analysis and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Implement or enhance reporting tools to support pricing, trade spend, and customer performance visibility.
  • Educate Sales teams on financial drivers such as margins, deductions, allowances, returns, and customer‑specific cost‑to‑serve.
  • Participate in planning for customer negotiations and help shape customer‑level strategies.
  • Provide insights that may influence decisions on incremental sales opportunities and customer‑specific investment levels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 6+ years of progressive financial experience supporting Sales, Commercial Finance, FP&A, or related areas.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP experience preferred).
  • Ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and influence partners at all levels.
  • Strong problem‑solving capabilities and understanding of supply chain/operational impacts.
  • Experience supporting customer negotiations and commercial decision‑making is a plus.
