Accounting Analyst, Easton PA
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Accounting Analyst, a member of the Controller’s Group, is responsible for supporting day‑to‑day accounting operations and the monthly close process. This role performs general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting activities while ensuring compliance with US GAAP and company policies. The Accounting Analyst works closely with internal stakeholders and supports audits, reporting, and business initiatives for Crayola’s US and International teams.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and post journal entries for the month‑end accounting close.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet General Ledger account reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly financial reporting schedules.
- Prepare Accounts Receivable reporting and variance analysis.
- Assist with Fixed Asset, CIP, and Lease reporting and management.
- Prepare audit schedules.
- Prepare financial information supporting Corporate Tax and Risk Department requests.
- Manage the accounting for Prepaid Expenses.
- Participate on cross‑functional project teams supporting business initiatives and process improvement opportunities.
- Prepare financial analysis of variances to Plan and Forecast
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies
- Review SAP transactions for coding consistency and recommend corrective measures.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum 2 years of experience
- GAAP knowledge (CPA a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical skills.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP a plus)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Fluency in Spanish a plus
