Position Summary
The Project Engineer – Electrical Commissioning plays a critical role in ensuring the successful commissioning of electrical systems in mission-critical environments such as data centers. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong technical expertise in electrical system design, construction, and commissioning processes. The ideal candidate combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience in testing, troubleshooting, and validating electrical systems and controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Commission electrical distribution equipment and controls, including medium-voltage systems.
- Review electrical system designs for compliance with client requirements and project goals.
- Assist in developing commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules.
- Execute commissioning activities from design through occupancy phases.
- Attend and document factory acceptance testing (FAT) of equipment.
- Perform functional and performance testing using appropriate instrumentation.
- Document all field procedures, results, and observations accurately.
- Prepare detailed reports on system performance and recommend technical solutions.
- Coordinate and execute field activities with project teams and stakeholders.
- Maintain daily commissioning logs and reports.
- Mentor and support Associate Project Engineers.
- Respond promptly and professionally to client and team inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and protocols.

- Transformers (High/Medium/Low Voltage)
- UPS and Battery Systems
- Switchgear and Main Switchboards
- PLC and Switching Controls
- EPMS, ATS, STS, PDU, RPP, Busways
- Grounding and Lighting Control Systems
Qualifications Education & Experience
- BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering with 1 year of mission-critical project experience, OR
- 4+ years of commissioning experience in relevant industries
Skills & Competencies
- Background in mission-critical facility commissioning
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive problem solver
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks independently
- Familiarity with ASHRAE, BCxA, and NETA standards
- Experience with BMS and EPMS systems
- Proficient in using electrical test instrumentation
- Team-oriented with a client-first mindset
Preferred Certifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) License and/or commissioning certification
