The American Red Cross is currently seeking a Summer Intern within the Training Services Department for the Business & Market Data Analyst Intern role. This position follows a hybrid schedule, reporting to the Fairfield, NJ office three days per week, with limited additional travel as needed.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview)

The Training Services Summer Internship Program offers undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to gain work experience in a non-profit organization. During the 10-week program , students receive training and develop their skills and knowledge under the guidance of experienced professionals. The 2026 Summer Internship program will run from Monday June 1, 2026, and concludes on Friday, August 7, 2026.

The Business & Market Data Analyst Intern will support the Training Services organization by assisting with data hygiene and enrichment activities across customer, market, and business datasets. This includes validating records, performing NAICS research, and contributing to improvements in data quality and reporting accuracy.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):

  • Proficient in conducting online research using search engines such as Google and/or Bing
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel
  • Market Business Data Enrichment
  • Conduct research to assign and validate NAICS codes associated to US business entities
  • Enrich company profiles with market attributes.
  • Support segmentation enhancements.
  • Support internal users with NAICS-related inquiries.
  • Obtain instruction and gather inputs from stakeholders for enrichment processes and activities
  • Complete various online training modules related to data, and data analytics offered on Red Cross Learning site Percipio
  • Data Hygiene & Quality Control
  • Validate, clean, and standardize business customer and market data.
  • Identify duplicate, incomplete, or inconsistent records.
  • Support recurring audits of datasets
  • Document discrepancies and improvement recommendations and processes.

Standard Schedule: Monday- Friday standard business hour.

The salary for this position is $20.00 an hour.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications)

Education: High School or equivalent required. Internship is typically part of an undergraduate program which requires some university credit hours

Experience: Up to 1 year of related experience

Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to research and analyze data to identify trends.
  • Ability to work on a team.
  • Travel: Ability to travel to attend meetings in person 10-20%.

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU THE COMPETITIVE EDGE: (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Strong skills in SQL (Structured Query Language) for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis
  • Experience with Excel Power Query to clean, transform, and automate data workflows
  • MS Access …converting Excel data sheets into MS Access tables
  • Data Management and Analysis using MS Access
