Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE

A Manufacturing Engineer develops and optimizes manufacturing processes for aerospace/industrial valves and actuators.

Responsibilities include creating routing, tool design, CNC programming, and providing floor support in a high-mix, low-volume environment.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Process Development: Create, document, and maintain manufacturing methods, routings, operation sketches, and assembly instructions for precision components.
  • CNC & Tooling: Design tooling, jigs, and fixtures; perform CNC programming (Mastercam/Esprit preferred) and troubleshooting.
  • Continuous Improvement: Apply lean strategies and Six Sigma methodologies to improve process efficiency, automate tasks, and reduce single-point failures.
  • Production Support: Provide daily support to the machine shop, assembly, and test areas, addressing technical challenges for hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical products.
  • Quality & Compliance: Implement and maintain quality controls in compliance with aerospace standards, using geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

WHAT IS NEEDED FOR THIS ROLE

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years in a CNC machining environment, specifically with multi-tasking machines, mills, and lathes.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred) and CAM software.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of GD&T, robust tooling design, and manufacturing process standardization.
  • Eligibility: Must be a US Person (under export regulations).

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency in LabView for programming and testing.
  • Experience with hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, and pneumatic valve testing.
  • Experience with surface plate inspection procedures.
