## About the Role
Regeneron is seeking a Senior Director, Digital Transformation Operations Lead to join our Global Development organization. This is a pivotal role that sits at the intersection of strategy, technology, and organizational change. You'll be instrumental in shaping how our Global Development teams leverage AI, machine learning, and automation to reduce cycle times, improve quality, and allow our people to focus on more meaningful work.
Your responsibilities will span a broad remit across Global Development, including development operations, regulatory, medical affairs, and our clinical development units. While the role centers on operations, you'll also contribute to overall company strategy, including prioritization and alignment with other Regeneron business units. You'll act as a critical translator between our technical groups who are developing and implementing platforms, algorithms, and systems, and the broader organization. Equally important, you'll be the key point of contact between our Digital Transformation team and external strategic consultants advising us on executing this transformation.
## What You'll Do
You'll work closely with DTI and Global Development leadership to develop and drive the strategic vision for the overall digital transformation project. Leading cross-functional collaboration will be essential—you'll coordinate with AI leads, advanced informatics, IT, and other technical groups to develop and implement cutting-edge solutions tailored to Global Development's specific needs and priorities. This means translating complex technical capabilities into concrete project plans and business outcomes.
Building and maintaining relationships with external partners and vendors is another key facet of this role. You'll ensure alignment with our business objectives and that we're delivering high-quality outcomes. You'll serve as the primary liaison between Global Development and our external strategic consultants, ensuring alignment on priorities, use case validation, and change management initiatives.
Change management will be a significant part of your focus. You'll co-lead the development and execution of a robust change management strategy to ensure successful adoption of new processes, technologies, and ways of working. More broadly, you'll foster a culture of innovation and adaptability, empowering teams to embrace digital transformation.
You'll oversee the development of comprehensive project plans, outlining prioritization frameworks, technical implementation strategies, and risk mitigation approaches. Establishing and monitoring performance metrics (KPIs) to evaluate project success is critical—you'll deliver regular updates and strategic recommendations to executive leadership. Finally, you'll coordinate digital transformation strategy and initiatives with other Regeneron business units, such as Commercial and Research, to drive enterprise-wide synergies and maximize our collective impact.
## What We're Looking For
You must have a minimum of a BS degree with 15 or more years of relevant experience, or alternatively an MS/MBA with 13 or more years of relevant experience. At least 7 years of that experience must involve developing and leading strategy, with clear accountability for the success of implementation, in life sciences or healthcare settings.
You'll need substantial experience leading and implementing major strategic projects in life sciences or healthcare. Robust knowledge of the essential processes involved in pharmaceutical R&D is required, with a particular focus on the drug development lifecycle—think protocol and trial design, safety reporting, outcomes research, and similar areas.
Technical acumen is important here. You should have robust technical knowledge of AI/ML and relevant platforms and technologies, as well as common enterprise systems. We need someone who can speak credibly about these topics to senior leadership who may not have technical backgrounds. Experience presenting to and educating senior leaders around the fundamentals of digital transformation, including investment decisions and go/no-go recommendations to non-technical audiences, is essential.
Your communication skills must be excellent, particularly in stakeholder management, change management, and strategic planning. You should have a proven track record of working effectively in matrixed organizations, developing and leading complex projects with multiple stakeholders while building out a network of subject matter experts.
Travel of up to 20% may be required for this position.
