As we continue to expand into large-scale, mixed-use and luxury multi-family projects, we are seeking a highly capable and strategic Vice President of Finance to lead all aspects of financial planning, cash flow management, and project-level financial strategy.

The Vice President of Finance will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for providing strategic financial direction and oversight across the company’s development and construction operations. This role requires deep experience in real estate development finance, including cash flow modeling, project-level forecasting, capital planning, and financial analysis that supports operational and investment decisions. The ideal candidate is both analytical and strategic — someone who can anticipate capital needs, optimize funding strategies, and provide actionable insight to ownership and project leadership teams.

Our company is seeking a seasoned and strategic VP of Finance / Financial Controller to join our team. This is a permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to shape and guide the financial strategy of our company. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities for the organization, in conjunction with the Board of Directors and the senior leadership team. This role is crucial to our company's success, as the VP of Finance / Financial Controller will be responsible for driving the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the finance department in strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and M&A.
  • Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds.
  • Manage capital funding and bank negotiations.
  • Foster investor relations and handle FP&A.
  • Oversee property management, cost accounting, and financial statement preparation.
  • Ensure financial reporting and audit readiness.
  • Manage state and federal tax planning and compliance.
  • Review and own P&L statements.
  • Develop and maintain financial models.
  • Monitor and manage company KPIs.
  • Implement and manage ERP systems.
  • Utilize data analytics to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Manage software applications such as Yardi, QuickBooks, and Builder Trend.
  • Oversee project-level forecasting and funding.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. An MBA is preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior finance role, preferably within the commercial real estate industry.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting, M&A, cash flow projections, capital funding, bank negotiations, investor relations, FP&A, property management, cost accounting, financial statement preparation, financial reporting, audit readiness, state and federal tax, P&L review and ownership, financial modeling, KPIs, ERP, data analytics.
  • Proficiency in Yardi, QuickBooks, and Builder Trend.
  • Strong knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software.
  • An analytical mind with a strategic ability.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
