Job description
Building the Digital Front Door to Mission-Critical Intelligence
As a Front-End Developer, you will support MCIA’s centralized Geospatial Support Services (GSS) portal, the primary platform where users discover, access, and share critical intelligence data across mission partners and operational teams. Your responsibilities include maintaining and enhancing this mission‑critical platform to ensure it remains modern, responsive, and easy to use. You will focus on improving the user interface and user experience, developing and maintaining front‑end components, and ensuring seamless integration with enterprise systems and geospatial data services. Additionally, you will support troubleshooting efforts, assist users, and contribute to new feature development that improves how intelligence is delivered and consumed.
This role directly impacts how intelligence professionals access and use geospatial data in support of real‑world operations. Performance, reliability, and usability are essential, and your contributions will help ensure the platform continues to meet the evolving needs of the mission.
Salary Range: $115,000 - $135,000
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or 8+ years of equivalent experience
- 4+ years of professional experience in front‑end web development, including integrating with enterprise back‑end systems via APIs
- Advanced proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS3
- Strong experience with at least one major JavaScript framework such as React, Vue.js, or Angular, for building responsive and single‑page applications
- Proven experience integrating REST APIs and connecting front‑end applications to enterprise back‑end systems, including ITSM platforms and geospatial data services
- Experience with data visualization libraries and tools such as D3.js and/or ArcGIS API for JavaScript to support interactive geospatial and analytical displays
- Solid understanding of UI/UX design principles and web accessibility standards, including Section 508 compliance
- Proficiency with modern development tools including package managers (npm/yarn), bundlers (Webpack/Vite), and version control systems such as Git
