Junior Web Developer

Role Description O2 Digital Creative Agency is currently seeking a Junior Developer who will be responsible for collaborating with a talented team to develop unique solutions and develop utilizing the best language/platform. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the digital creative community, a solid foundational knowledge of basic programming languages, and an eagerness to produce high-quality work. We create a variety of web-based solutions for our clients – from simple brochure sites to e-commerce sites, mobile apps, and custom business management software platforms. In every project, we strive to provide a new and unique experience for our clients through the use of innovative technology and the latest industry standards.

Your day-to-day activities will require and involve: Maintaining & updating client websites Utilizing HTML, JavaScript, CSS, PHP, MySQL, and Apache, among other languages Developing within a Linux Environment and on the Command Line Developing modular code for application on multiple projects Working with WordPress and other CMS Platforms Problem-solving for best-practice solution Participation and contribution in Team Meetings Working as a team to design and develop products from concept to completion

Qualifications Ability to develop in an OOP style Comfortable working in an Agile framework and communicating with a cross-functional team Ability to multitask, take direction, and prioritize Ability to perform analysis of website structures and existing code for improvements Strong written and verbal communication skills Personal management skills, including organizing and managing multiple projects A desire to continually learn and improve their development skills Must be flexible and able to adapt to change

Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field At least 2 years of experience in PHP development Strong knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related technologies Experience with MySQL and database design Experience with GIT Familiarity with database design and modeling concepts Knowledge of today's development standards
