Job description
Herbicide Technicians are responsible for spraying, cutting, trimming, removing weeds, grass, and brush for various public or private businesses. Sometimes this will be accomplished with a spray truck, an ATV, a backpack sprayer, or by pulling a hose up to 300'.
Daily Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Complete all DOT required truck inspections completely (responsible to identify and trouble shoot truck/spray system issues or needed repairs.
- Keep truck and equipment clean and always organized.
- Individuals will be trained to be capable of calibrating all spray equipment.
- Individuals will be trained in the basic understanding of weed, grass, and brush types.
- Individuals will be trained to have a general knowledge of methods and chemicals used, what they control, and all safety requirements to meet the customers' expectations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Valid driver's license with 5 years of clean driving record.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
- Must be able to obtain applicable herbicide applicator licensing within 30 days of employment.
- Must be willing to travel a minimum of one week at a time minimum and up to 3 consecutive weeks when job location requires.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
- 2 years of verifiable outdoor work experience.
- Previous herbicide application experience is a plus.
- Availability to work 12–14-hour days, 50-60 hours a week during the season.
- Capability to drag 50lbs for 150 feet repeatedly.
- Able to complete math problems using multiplication and division.
- Must be able to operate a smart phone – using email, text, apple or google maps, and various other communication apps.
- Work independently after training period. Support is always available.
- Operate various power tools to include chainsaws, weed eaters, and leaf blowers.

- Pay Rate Start at: $22-24PH. Potential to average 10-20 hours of OT during busy season.
- Per-Diem Daily: $32.50 for each night you are not home.
