About the Opportunity:

Amentum are offering an exciting opportunity to join our growing team of IT professionals to work on a range of projects for our diverse client portfolio that covers Critical National Infrastructure, National Security, Defence and Nuclear market sectors. Our team is growing and are we looking for proactive and collaborative professionals of all levels to work within us in providing a range of services to our clients. With our deep technical, commercial, and strategic expertise we develop solutions that address our client’s critical challenges supporting digitalisation and security.

We are looking for a Data Analyst to support a UK MOD programme delivering Defence-wide data, integration, and enterprise architecture capabilities. Operating across the CADMID lifecycle, you will work with data, architecture, and integration teams to analyse data, support the development of standards and artefacts, and contribute to improving Defence data practices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and interpret data to support development of enterprise data artefacts, architecture outputs, and integration frameworks.

  • Assist in producing data models, data mappings, and data flow diagrams under guidance from Data Architects and senior analysts.

  • Support the development of data standards, policies, and documentation aligned with MOD standards (e.g., JSP 453).

  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and visualisations using to communicate insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders, using lo-code/no-code platforms.

  • Work with stakeholders to gather data requirements and support data validation and quality assessment activities.

  • Contribute to data governance activities, including data quality, metadata, and documentation.

  • Support horizon scanning and research activities by analysing datasets and producing insights on emerging trends.

Here's What You'll Need:

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in Data Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to present data clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets.

  • Willingness to learn and develop within a Defence data and architecture environment.

Experience:

  • 1–3 years’ experience in a Data Analyst or similar role.

  • Experience working with structured data, performing analysis, and producing insights.

  • Proficient in the use of lo-code/no-code platforms to support data analysis and visualisation (e.g., PowerBI).

  • Ability to write basic code for data extraction/processing/analysis, using languages such as Python or R [desirable].

  • Exposure to working in project or programme environments (Defence or public sector desirable).

  • Understanding of data structures, data modelling concepts, and data flows, and the ability to clean, transform, and analyse datasets to derive meaningful insights.
