Job Title: Senior Security Engineer
Location: India (Aligned to UK Working Hours)
Role Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Security Specialist / Manager to support the Information Security function through the design, development, and deployment of automation across security processes, reporting, and toolsets.
This role is focused on engineering-led security enablement, requiring strong hands-on scripting and code problem-solving capabilities. The successful candidate will work closely with the Information Security Manager and broader security function to prioritise, design, and deliver automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, scalability, and consistency.
The role is centred on technical implementation, automation engineering, and continuous improvement of security capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions to enhance Information Security processes, reporting, and operational workflows
- Build and optimise scripts and tools using languages such as Python, Bash, Go, Java, KQL, XQL (or similar) to support security use cases
- Integrate and automate across security toolsets, APIs, and platforms, enabling seamless data flow and orchestration
- Support the implementation, configuration, and optimisation of security tools and controls across the organisation
- Develop reusable automation frameworks to support team-wide adoption and standardisation
- Work closely with the Information Security function to prioritise and deliver tasks based on business and security needs
- Enable automation across cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), including deployment, monitoring, and optimisation
- Leverage API integrations to automate data collection, analysis, and response workflows, security reporting, compliance data collection, or operational metrics
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort, eliminate inefficiencies, and improve process maturity
- Provide hands-on technical support for security implementations, integrations, and troubleshooting
- Produce clear documentation for developed automations, tools, and processes
- Mentor team members by sharing knowledge, upskilling on scripting, and enabling adoption of automation practices
- Support continuous improvement by iterating on existing automations and introducing incremental enhancements
Skills, Experience, Qualifications and Knowledge Required
- Strong proficiency in scripting and programming Python, Bash, Go, Java, KQL, XQL (or similar)
- Demonstrated experience in code-based problem solving and automation engineering
- Experience working with APIs (REST, JSON, authentication mechanisms) for integration and automation
- Hands-on experience implementing and managing security tools and technologies
- Solid understanding of secure coding practices and development principles
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience deploying and managing automation within cloud-native environments
- Understanding of infrastructure, networking, and system integration concepts
- Familiarity with security monitoring, logging, and reporting mechanisms
- Strong ability to translate requirements into technical automation solutions
- Experience working in task-driven, prioritised delivery environments
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across distributed teams
- Ability to document and communicate solutions clearly
