TITLE:   Power BI/ Fabric Solution Developer – Group Reporting & Analytics

REPORTING TO: Manager

WORKING LOCATION:  Bangalore, India

OVERALL OBJECTIVES:                                                                                                                                                                       

Eurofins is currently accelerating the deployment of D365 Finance ERP across its ELEs.

BI Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions, working with data primarily from finance and purchasing domains. The role focuses on building scalable data pipelines, data models, and reporting solutions using modern BI technologies, with a strong emphasis on the Microsoft BI ecosystem.

The position covers core BI development activities across the data lifecycle, including data ingestion, integration, transformation, modelling, and visualization. The developer will work with multiple data sources (e.g., procurement platforms such as Coupa, ERP systems such as AX2012 / D365, and other enterprise systems) to deliver reliable, high-quality datasets and reporting solutions.

As part of the Eurofins’ Group Finance BI Team, the successful candidate will contribute to standardized, secure, and scalable group reporting solutions deployed across multiple countries and business units.

Within Eurofins Group Finance IT team, you will join a team consisting of multiple Developers, Business Analysts etc. in India and in Europe. You will work under the guidance of a senior architect, follow established best practices, and contribute to the full development lifecycle — from coding to deployment in Azure. Your responsibilities will include:

SPECIFIC ASSIGNMENTS:

Data Integration & Pipeline Development: Develop, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Microsoft Fabric Data Factory, SQL, and related tools to ingest and transform data from multiple source systems, including finance and purchasing platforms.

Data Modelling & Semantic Layer: Design and implement efficient data models (primarily star schemas) and semantic models using Azure Analysis Services or Power BI datasets, ensuring performance, reusability, and scalability

BI Development (Reporting & Dashboards): Build and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards, focusing on usability, performance, and alignment with business requirements. Support both standard reporting and ad hoc analysis.

Data Transformation & Quality: Implement transformation logic to standardize and reconcile data across systems. Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and traceability through validation and quality checks

Performance Optimization: Optimize SQL queries, data models (AAS / Power BI), and reports to ensure efficient performance across large datasets.

Deployment Support: Support deployment of BI solutions into production environments.

Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for data pipelines, data models, and reporting solutions to support maintainability and knowledge sharing.

Collaboration & Support: Work closely with other BI developers, data engineers, and stakeholders to support ongoing enhancements, issue resolution, and continuous improvement of BI solutions.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Experience & Education

You own a Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.

You have around 2 to 3 years of experience in BI development, data analytics, or data engineering roles with hands-on experience in building data pipelines, semantic models, and reports.

Technology skills:

BI Stack: Hands-on experience with BI technologies, including:

Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Lakehouse / Data Warehouse – preferred),

SQL (advanced querying, performance tuning),

Azure Analysis Services (AAS) or equivalent tabular modelling,

Power BI (data modelling, DAX, report development).

Data Modelling Skills: Solid understanding of dimensional modelling (star schema) and tabular/semantic modelling concepts.

Data Integration Experience: Experience working with multiple data sources (e.g., ERP, SaaS platforms) and combining them into unified data models.

Reporting & Visualization: Ability to build clear, user-friendly dashboards and reports, with attention to performance and usability.

Development Practices: Understanding of version control, structured development, and documentation practices.

Communication Skills: Ability to work in a collaborative environment and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

ERP / Finance Data (Nice to Have): Exposure to finance or purchasing data and systems such as AX2012 / D365 Finance & Operations is an advantage but not required.

Additional Assets

Experience in global or multi-country BI environments,

Familiarity with data governance, security, and access control in Microsoft Fabric would be an advantage,

Experience working within a BI or Data Centre of Excellence would be an advantage.
