Mechanical Designer & PDM Specialist

Summary of the Role

Do you enjoy working with assemblies, improving technical data consistency and optimizing product documentation and workflows?

At Nordson Precision Agriculture (formerly known as Arag), you will join our R&D Mechanical Engineering team to design and develop individual components (plastic parts, sheet metal, turned/machined components), manage assemblies and ensure the effective governance of our PDM system.

You will operate in a dynamic and collaborative environment, contributing to product design quality, data reliability and process efficiency.

This is a permanent position based in Rubiera (Italy), reporting directly to the Mechanical Engineering Manager.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Designer & PDM Specialist, you will be responsible for:

• Designing mechanical components, assemblies and sub-assemblies

• Creating and updating 3D models, drawings, BOMs and technical documentation

• Ensuring proper governance of the PDM system (workflows, codifications, revisions, data structure)

• Supporting the standardization of components, modules and design methodologies

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth release of product documentation

• Contributing to process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives within R&D

Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent technical background)

• Solid knowledge of plastic parts, sheet metal components and turned/machined parts

• Strong knowledge of CAD modeling and assembly design

• Experience with PDM systems, including data management and governance

• Good understanding of technical documentation, BOM management and revision control

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel and PowerPoint)

• Familiarity with PLM systems is a plus

• Proficient in Italian and basic (or intermediate) English level
