Financial Accountant

Working as a part of the Global Finance team the Financial Accountant will combine technical accounting expertise with strong communication skills and a proactive, agile mindset thriving in fast paced dynamic setting. You will lead on financial management for FNZ Markets and will take ownership of accounting deliverables for the group, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for management and key stakeholders.   

The Financial Accountant will play a critical role in the effective Financial Management of the FNZ Markets, operating across multiple regions. You will lead on key month-end processes, financial reporting & analysis, driving process improvements and communicating with auditors. You will also get involved and have oversight of accounts payable and receivable processes while supporting strategic decision-making across global operations.

The responsibilities will include:  

  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of the general ledger for FNZ Markets entities, implementing robust financial controls

  • Monitor, evaluate, and improve internal financial controls, ensuring all processes align with best practices and company policies

  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations in line with company policies

  • Lead the month-end close processes ensuring timely and accurate reporting in line with the Group’s global reporting timetable

  • Support both internal and external audit processes by preparing necessary documentation

  • Assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes to provide insights into financial projections and strategic planning

  • Assist in the preparation of Management/Board Reports

  • Provide oversight and guidance to the Finance Assistant, ensuring efficient execution of key accounting functions

  • Actively engage in process improvement initiatives, identifying areas where automation, streamlining, or restructuring could drive efficiency and accuracy in financial operations

  • Support the preparation and submission of tax filings for FNZ Markets

  • Participate in ad-hoc finance projects as they arise, contributing insights and support to initiatives that enhance financial processes, reporting, or business operations

What are we ideally looking for in a successful candidate:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Financial Accounting role or similar.

  • CA qualified (or equivalent professional certification).

  • Experience in either: Auditing or Business Advisory roles within a CA firm, or Financial Accounting roles within a large corporate.

  • Strong technical accounting and reporting expertise, with IFRS experience being a significant advantage.

  • Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to handle complex financial models and data analysis.

  • Experience with Microsoft Navision (or similar ERP systems) is highly desirable.

  • Strategic mindset, with the ability to navigate and resolve complex challenges in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Background in Fintech or Financial Services would be advantageous.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
