The Role & What You Will Be Doing
Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference, and here’s how the Packaging Engineer role will make an impact:
We are looking for a Packaging Technology Engineer to join our Technical Services team. In this role, you will provide daily technical support to packaging operations and play a key part in new product introductions, packaging development projects, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position offers a varied scope of responsibility and close collaboration with production, quality, and regional partners.
In the short term, you will:
- Support packaging operations in matters related to packaging materials and suppliers
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation and specifications
- Perform deviation investigations, failure analysis, and root cause analysis
- Qualify new suppliers and manage cooperation with existing partners
- Manage BOM changes and technically review and approve artwork, drawings, and printing plates
- Prepare and manage changes in the TrackWise system
- Organize and execute line trials; prepare test protocols and reports
In the long term, you will:
- Design and develop primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging materials
- Participate in internal and external audits and ensure regulatory compliance
- Work closely with Quality Assurance and Compliance teams locally and regionally
- Support new product pricing and calculate cost savings related to material and blister size changes
- Test new tooling both at suppliers and in-house, ensuring availability of test materials
- Qualify new packaging materials and define critical process parameters
About Your Skills & Experience
For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills, and experiences:
- Proactive, independent working style with strong system-level problem solving skills
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Packaging Engineering, or another relevant technical field
- Experience in pharmaceutical or food industry packaging operations is an advantage
- High attention to detail and confident documentation skills
- Intermediate English proficiency, both written and verbal
- Project management experience is an advantage
