Job description

Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a knowledgeable and adaptable VisionPlus Developer to support the development and enhancement of Visa’s VisionPlus platform. This role involves designing, coding, testing, and deploying solutions within a complex payment and card management environment. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient solutions that meet business needs and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Software Requirements

  • Required:

    • Experience with Visa VisionPlus platform or similar card processing software

    • Proficiency in core development languages such as Java, .NET, or relevant scripting languages

    • Familiarity with SQL and relational database management systems

    • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and testing tools (JIRA, Confluence, GIT)

    • Understanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA), web services, and APIs

  • Preferred:

    • Experience with cloud platforms and infrastructure (AWS, Azure)

    • Knowledge of security standards, encryption, and compliance (PCI DSS, ISO)

    • Exposure to newer UI frameworks or reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI)

Overall Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business analysts and domain experts to understand functional requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Develop, test, and deploy enhancements to VisionPlus modules including card processing, customer management, and reporting functionalities.

  • Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and compliant with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct code reviews and facilitate continuous improvement of the codebase for maintainability and quality.

  • Support integration with external systems and APIs, ensuring data accuracy and security.

  • Participate in solution design discussions and ensure technological best practices are followed.

  • Document technical specifications, processes, and system configurations for ongoing maintenance and audits.

Technical Skills (By Category)

  • Programming Languages:
    Required: Java, .NET, or similar core technologies; scripting languages like Python or Shell scripting
    Preferred: Front-end frameworks like Angular or React for reporting or UI customizations

  • Databases/Data Management:
    SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL for transaction data management, reporting, and audit trails

  • Cloud Technologies:
    Experience with deploying and managing solutions in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure (optional but advantageous)

  • Frameworks and Libraries:
    Web services (REST, SOAP), APIs, service-oriented architecture (SOA), reporting tools

  • Development Tools and Methodologies:
    Git, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence, Agile/Scrum, DevOps practices

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in VisionPlus platform development or a similar card management/ payment processing system

  • Proven track record in delivering solutions within a payment or banking environment

  • Experience with end-to-end solution development, testing, and deployment cycles

  • Prior exposure to cloud deployment, APIs, and security standards preferred

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Develop and maintain VisionPlus modules according to business requirements

  • Conduct code reviews, functional testing, and performance tuning

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical specifications and implementation plans

  • Troubleshoot issues, investigate root causes, and deploy fixes promptly

  • Support system integration and upgrades, ensuring minimal operational disruptions

  • Document complex solutions and participate in knowledge sharing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent field

  • Relevant certification in payment systems or related domains (e.g., PCI DSS, Visa certifications) is a plus

  • Proven experience working on Visa VisionPlus or similar card payment platforms

  • Ongoing professional development in latest payment processing technologies, security standards, and industry best practices
