This is an Hourly position. Overview POSITION SUMMARY: The Safety Companion provides continuous, attentive observation of assigned patients to maintain their safety. This role performs light patient care tasks, which may include repositioning, ambulation assistance, bathing, feeding, and other activities of daily living. The Safety Companion documents relevant information in the patient record and communicates effectively with the care team to promote seamless, high-quality care. Responsibilities may vary based on departmental needs and the specific support required for patients of all age groups, contributing to each patient’s comfort and well-being. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Licensure/ Certification: CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider - BLS (within 90 days of onboarding). Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School Diploma/GED Experience: 1 year work experience in a customer service industry. OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
