Overview Our Payroll and HR Technology Consulting team offers a full range of payroll and HRIS technology services including but not limited Outsourced Payroll Administration, Multi-Jurisdictional Payroll Services, Payroll & HRIS Technology Implementations, Payroll & HRIS Technology Vendor Transitions, Payroll Tax Amendments, Payroll Tax Compliance and Registrations, Time and Attendance Implementations and Management, Benefit configuration, enrollments and carrier feeds, W-2 Reconciliations, and Workflow and Process Design. As a result of our ongoing growth, we are seeking a Payroll Tax Compliance Specialist to join our team. This is an ideal role for a proactive, highly detailed and process-driven payroll professional who embraces the opportunity to support our clients’ needs as a member of a collaborative team of payroll professionals. This role can be fully remote, or hybrid if you’re in the Norwalk, CT area. How you'll make an impact Work in a variety of projects and services including setting up Department of Labor and Department of Revenue tax identification numbers in various states and municipalities Assist with tax audits, reconciliations, or other tax projects as needed Provide ongoing tax maintenance services directly to clients that include (but are not limited to) SUI rate updates, tax agency notices, vendor system updates, documentation, and state login templates, among others Work directly with clients to successfully manage multiple needs and deadlines Provide proper client guidance as needed, related to the correct application of state and federal regulations About You Experience in a variety of Payroll & HRIS systems preferred Experience with payroll taxes and quarterly/ annual reconciliations, with the ability to troubleshoot issues resulting in root cause identification Experience in thoroughly researching and resolving tax agency notices Knowledge of setting up state income, state unemployment, and local jurisdiction profiles for payroll utilization Knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations. Ability to provide payroll tax compliance assistance, guidance, and best practices Ability to effectively build and maintain client relationships in a customer-centric environment Ability to work in a virtual team environment or autonomously completing tasks accurately and efficiently to manage all client and vendor relationships Professional and effective communication skills Flexible work schedule to meet the demands of assigned clients Proficiency in Excel, including creating formulas and Pivot Tables and the use of VLOOKUP Compensation and benefits We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
