Job description
DESCRIPTION
As Program Manager, Supply Chain, you will own and drive the full supply chain program — from strategic sourcing and supplier development through demand planning, inventory management, and materials fulfillment for production. You'll serve as the strategic program leader connecting engineering, manufacturing, and our contract manufacturer, ensuring parts are available, suppliers are performing, and the business has the visibility it needs to make informed decisions. This is a high-impact program management role at a critical stage of the company's growth.
Key job responsibilities Strategic Sourcing & Procurement
- Own vendor selection, qualification, and onboarding for new components and materials across mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical categories
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, MOQs, and contractual terms with suppliers
- Identify and qualify alternate/secondary sources for critical and sole-sourced components to reduce supply risk
- Partner with engineering during NPI to drive component selection toward supply-resilient, cost-effective, and readily available parts
- Manage supplier relationships, scorecards, and performance reviews
Demand Planning & Inventory Management
- Develop and maintain demand forecasts in collaboration with product, engineering, and leadership; translate forecasts into material requirements and procurement plans
- Manage inventory Levels to balance availability against carrying cost and obsolescence risk
- Track and communicate parts availability status, shortages, and risk to production schedules; drive resolution of critical shortages
Production Materials & CM Coordination
- Serve as the primary supply chain interface with the contract manufacturer — coordinating materials planning, consigned vs. turnkey decisions, and kitting
- Monitor supplier on-time delivery and component yield; drive corrective actions for chronic performance issues
- Support subassembly and system builds with real-time materials visibility and escalation paths
- Own the end-to-end PO lifecycle from issuance through receipt and reconciliation
Operations & Process Development
- Build and scale supply chain processes, tools, and systems appropriate from concept to production — including ERP/MRP setup or optimization
- Lead cost reduction initiatives through negotiation, re-sourcing, and design-to-cost partnerships with engineering
- Manage logistics and freight strategy for inbound materials and outbound finished goods
About the team Fauna Robotics, an Amazon company, is building capable, safe, and genuinely delightful robots for everyday life. Our goal is simple: make robots people actually want to live and interact with in everyday human spaces. We believe that future won’t arrive until building for robotics becomes far more accessible. Today, too much effort is spent reinventing the fundamentals. We’re changing that by developing tightly integrated hardware and software systems that make it faster, safer, and more intuitive to create real-world robotic products. Our work spans the full stack: mechanical design, control systems, dynamic modeling, and intelligent software. The focus is not just functionality, but experience. We’re building robots that feel responsive, expressive, and genuinely useful. At Fauna, you’ll work at the frontier of this space, helping define how robots move, manipulate, and interact with people in natural environments. It’s an opportunity to solve hard problems across hardware and software with a team focused on making robotics accessible and joyful to build. If you care about making robotics real for everyone and building systems that are as delightful as they are capable, we’re interested in hearing from you.
