Play a key role, responsible for driving digital transformation, high‑quality planning, forecasting, and reporting, delivering insightful analytics and executive‑ready storytelling. The core functions of the role include:

 

1)      Revenue & Opex Consolidation, Forecasting and Cost Management

  • Oversee global Revenue & Commercialization Opex consolidation, forecasting, actuals reporting, and variance analysis across regions and functions.

  • Deliver insightful analytics and actionable recommendations to support investment prioritization, resource optimization, and cost discipline.

2)      Digital Finance, Analytics & Transformation Leadership

  • Lead Commercial Finance’s contribution to enterprise digital finance initiatives, aligning future‑state data, analytics, automation, and reporting capabilities with business needs and Finance governance standards.

  • Act as change management lead for digital tools and processes, ensuring effective training, documentation, and communications to drive adoption and minimize disruption.

  • Establish and uphold financial data governance frameworks, including data quality, consistency, and stewardship standards across systems and regions.

  • Serve as a senior Data Visualization & Analytics leader, owning the design and delivery of dashboards and executive‑level reporting tools that enable self‑service analytics and enhanced business intelligence.

3)      Long‑Range Planning & Strategic Financial Analytics

  • Lead Long Range Plan (LRP) revenue and P&L analytics, partnering with cross‑functional leaders to shape long‑term financial strategy, profitability outlooks, and investment trade‑offs.

  • Translate complex financial scenarios into clear insights to support strategic decision‑making at senior leadership levels.

4)      Regional & Market‑Level Financial Oversight

  • Provide regional price‑volume analysis and profitability metrics, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and actionable insights across regions.

  • Serve as the primary Finance FP&A liaison for Commercial Regions, strengthening financial alignment, reporting quality, and strategic collaboration across markets.

5)      Earnings & Executive Support

  • Provide strategic earnings support, including deep‑dive revenue and P&L analyses for executive presentations, earnings materials, and leadership reviews.

  • Partner with Investor Relations, Controllership, Corporate FP&A, and regional finance teams to ensure alignment, accuracy, and clear financial storytelling.

6)      Leadership & Collaboration

  • Operate as a trusted Finance business partner to senior commercial, regional, and corporate stakeholders.

  • Influence without authority, driving alignment across Finance and cross‑functional teams.

Basic Qualifications

BS/BA with 10+ Years of experience

OR

MS/MA or MBA with 8+ Years of experience

OR

PhD with 5+ Years of experience

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

1)      Digital & Analytical Skills

  • Predictive Data Analytics & Data Science: Apply advanced analytical techniques to anticipate business outcomes, identify trends, and enable forward‑looking decision support.

  • Scenario Modeling & “What‑If” Algorithms: Design and interpret scenario‑based models to evaluate financial, operational, and strategic trade‑offs under varying assumptions.

  • Proactive Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks through early‑warning indicators, sensitivity analysis, and disciplined governance.

  • Process & Operational Excellence: Drive continuous improvement by simplifying, standardizing, and automating FP&A processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

  • AI, Robotics & Natural Language Processing (NLP): Leverage AI‑enabled tools, automation, and advanced analytics (including robotics and NLP) to modernize finance workflows, enhance insights, and unlock productivity gains.

 

2)      Insight, Leadership & Partnering Skills

  • Creativity & Innovation: Bring new ways of thinking to complex financial and business challenges, translating ambiguity into actionable insights and opportunities.

  • Data‑Driven Storytelling: Synthesize complex data into clear, compelling narratives tailored to senior leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders to influence decisions.

  • Digital Agility & Agile Mindset: Adapt quickly to evolving tools, data, and business needs; embrace iterative ways of working and continuous learning.

  • Leading Through Change & Transformation: Act as a change leader during digital, process, and organizational transformations, ensuring adoption, engagement, and sustained impact.

  • Engagement & Relationship Building: Establish trusted partnerships across Commercial, Controllership, IR, PDM, Corporate FP&A, and regional finance teams to enable effective collaboration and influence.

  • Virtual Workforce Management: Effectively lead, influence, and collaborate with geographically dispersed and virtual teams across regions and time zones.

  • Strategic Thinking & Problem Solving: Apply strong business judgment and structured problem‑solving to connect financial insights with enterprise strategy and long‑term value creation.

The salary range for this position is: $182,070.00 - $235,620.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
