Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a wide range of recipes, ensuring high-quality and consistent results
- Follow established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards
- Collaborate with the culinary team to plan and execute menus for various outlets
- Assist in monitoring inventory levels and ensure proper storage and rotation of food items
- Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Assist in the development and implementation of new menu items and culinary concepts
- Contribute to maintaining a positive and respectful work environment
- Uphold the Fairmont brand standards of quality and excellence
- Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance culinary skills and knowledge
- Assist in other areas of the kitchen or hotel operations as needed
Your experience and skills include:
- Minimum 3 years of pastry cooking experience preferred
- Understands Baker’s Percentage
- Strong knowledge of mixing techniques for sponges, mousses, etc.
- Strong knowledge of icing cakes
- Able to work in a high-pressure environment
- Valid Food Handler Certificate require
- Experience in a luxury hotel with comparable service and standards an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a team player
- Diploma/Certification in a culinary discipline an asset
- Must hold valid authorization to work in the USA
Physical Requirements Include:
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs
- Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
