Job description
As part of the Versant Media Production Engineering Team, this position is a critical part of successful all engineering projects throughout the Versant Media portfolio of businesses. The position is a mix of project management, engineering design/coordination, and operations support.
Responsibilities include:
Project Management & Engineering Coordination:
- Key member part of the Site Reliability Engineering Team for supporting and driving all parts of Production/Broadcast Engineering Projects. From conception through build/deployment across 30 Rock & other NBCU Properties.
- Manage Engineering Project Portfolio of 65+ Projects/Initiatives Directly with Engineering Teams & Business Partners.
- Create Engineering Project Planning and Development Material/Documentation for both short-term and long-term ranges.
- Organize and Create Bill of Materials (BOMs), Project Scopes, Timelines, and Project Proposals.
- Work directly with Engineering Teams to assemble said Project Planning and Development Material/Documentation and Manage Design/Build Tasks Accordingly.
- Lead Purchasing and Sourcing Initiatives/Programs for Engineering Teams & Business Partners.
- Manage Project Build Integration Resources and Requirements Directly with Engineering Teams and Other Business Partners.
- Assist Engineering Teams with All Aspects of Projects from Logistics, Materials Needs, Equipment Needs, Integration Resources, and Quick Problem Solving.
- Aid with PO research, Invoicing, and Project Closing.
- Be the Engineering Project Liaison between any New or Existing External Business Affairs or Partners.
Operations Support:
- Keep abreast of digital media workflows and technologies to support such workflows, specifically in control rooms, studios, and core infrastructure
- Identify and recommend new technologies and solutions for operational problems
- Complete configuration, setup and testing on major initiatives across the NBCU portfolio of businesses
- Available to work during off-hours and weekends as required due to operational restrictions
- Work closely with operations managers and area leads to ensure timely and efficient hand-off of new builds for day-to-day operations
- Engage vendor support where necessary to ensure equipment functions the way it should and proper support resources are provided to operations
Requirements:
- 10+ years of recent experience in a television broadcast environment.
- Understanding of the 24/7 nature of the on-air News, Sports, and Entertainment environments.
- College Degree in Broadcast and/or Media.
- Strong PC & Microsoft Suite skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to learn new production technologies.
- Willingness to work overtime including weekends and overnights with short notice.
- Must be able to work independently, yet have strong collaboration skills and meet deadlines.
- Must be able to prioritize and be a pro-active thinker.

- Onsite: This position has been designated as onsite, contributing from the office five days per week.
