Process Engineer
SUMMARY
Part of the IDEX Corporation, Precision Polymer Engineering (PPE LLC) is a manufacturer and supplier of high performance, niche elastomer seals used in critical applications around the globe. At IDEX we are focused on attractive markets where there is sustainable competitive advantage based on technology leading to high growth and profitability.
PURPOSE OF ROLE:
The Process Engineer is a mid‑level, hands‑on role that supports production by developing, optimizing, and improving elastomer manufacturing processes. The position uses data‑driven problem solving, structured project execution, and cross‑functional collaboration to enhance efficiency, quality, and scalability across the value stream. This role is primarily day shift, with occasional off‑hours support during critical production needs.

Continuous Improvement Manager
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring processes, equipment, and daily practices meet safety standards
- Work cross‑functionally with production, engineering, quality, and planning to resolve issues and improve productivity
- Integrate new technologies and optimize existing processes for capability, quality, and throughput
- Creation, revision, and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures, also has the authority to authorize work process modifications.
- Collaborate and coordinate multifunctional problem solving
- Monitor manufacturing processes, respond to in‑line production issues, and support root‑cause investigations
- Use data analysis and statistical methods to identify trends and prioritize improvement opportunities
- Research, recommend, and integrate technologies to optimize asset and labor utilization
- Break process‑development work into scoped projects; establish resources, timelines, and milestones
- Communicate project status clearly to internal stakeholders
- Lead process mapping and document standardized procedures across the value stream
- Define critical process parameters and develop metrics to track capability and improvements
- Recommend and implement process improvements based on data and observations on the manufacturing floor
- Assist in designing or improving tooling, fixtures, and jigs to improve manufacturability
- Review production data for accuracy and completeness
- Train employees on processes, lean principles, and updated procedures
- Perform additional duties as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- B.S. in Process, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing process engineering
- Experience with statistical process control or similar data‑driven methodologies
- Experience with polymer processes such as compression molding, injection molding, milling, etc. preferred
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
- Strong initiative with the ability to seek out problems and work independently
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications
- Proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting statistical and process data
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Attention to detail and strong documentation habits
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working hands‑on with equipment and tooling
- Ability to train and influence employees
- Clear communication and strong cross‑functional collaboration skills
This position is located in Brenham, Texas, and is required to be on site 5 days/week.
