Summary of Position:
We are seeking a Senior Salesforce DevOps Engineer with strong Salesforce Admin capabilities to support, automate, and govern Salesforce releases across multiple environments. This role blends Copado-based DevOps ownership with hands-on Salesforce administration, ensuring platform stability, security, and scalability.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable managing CI/CD pipelines, Git-based version control, and environment governance, while also handling core Salesforce Admin responsibilities such as user access, configuration changes, environment readiness, and release coordination in large enterprise orgs.
Key Responsibilities:
Salesforce DevOps & CI/CD
- Own and manage end-to-end Salesforce CI/CD pipelines using Copado for metadata and configuration deployments
- Define and enforce branching strategies (feature, develop, release, hotfix) aligned with enterprise release models
- Configure and manage Copado pipelines, user stories, validations, promotions, and rollback strategies
- Drive DevOps best practices for source-driven development and controlled deployments.
Source Control & Development Tooling
- Manage Salesforce source control using Bitbucket (branching, PR workflows, merge strategies)
- Enforce Pull Request reviews, peer approvals, and gated deployments
- Support developers using VS Code with Salesforce extensions and Git integrations.
Salesforce Administration Capabilities
- Perform and support core Salesforce Admin activities, including:
- User creation, role hierarchy, profiles, permission sets, and permission set groups
- Access provisioning, revocation, and compliance checks
- Manage and deploy declarative configurations such as:
- Flows, validation rules, page layouts, record types, custom settings, and custom metadata
- Support environment readiness by validating org configurations before and after deployments
- Partner with security and access management teams to ensure least-privilege access and audit compliance.
Release, Environment & Org Management
- Plan and execute regular releases, hotfixes, and emergency deployments
- Manage sandbox strategy, environment refreshes, post-refresh tasks, and access reconfiguration
- Coordinate release activities with developers, QA, and business stakeholders
- Troubleshoot deployment failures related to metadata conflicts, dependencies, or org configuration.
Quality, Security & Compliance
- Integrate code quality and security checks into DevOps pipelines (static analysis, validation gates)
- Maintain deployment traceability, approvals, and audit logs
- Support enterprise change management and compliance processes (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, Confluence)
Collaboration & Leadership
- Act as a Salesforce DevOps & Admin SME for delivery teams
- Mentor developers and junior admins on Copado, Git, Salesforce Admin best practices
- Drive continuous improvement across DevOps maturity, automation, and governance
Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:
Must-Have
- Experience as Salesforce DevOps Engineer with strong Salesforce Admin capabilities to support, automate, and govern Salesforce releases across multiple environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Copado (admin, pipelines, promotions, rollback)
- Proven experience with Bitbucket and enterprise Git branching strategies
- Hands-on Salesforce Admin experience (profiles, permission sets, flows, configurations)
- Proficiency with VS Code and Salesforce development extensions
- Strong understanding of Salesforce metadata, deployment dependencies, and org governance.
Good-to-Have
- Experience working in DevSecOps or regulated enterprise environments
- Familiarity with ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, or similar ALM tools
- Exposure to Salesforce DX, CLI automation, or scripting
- Salesforce Admin, Copado, or DevOps certifications.
What Success Looks Like
- Stable, predictable Salesforce releases with minimal rework
- Strong alignment between Admin changes and DevOps pipelines
- Reduced manual effort and post-deployment issues
- High audit readiness and platform reliability.
