Red Hat Developer Hub Intern (Brno office, Czech Republic)

The Red Hat Developer Hub team is looking for an Intern passionate about open source and interested in contributing to the Backstage project to join us in Brno. You'll work closely with the Backstage community, support community initiatives and contribute to the project. You'll also assist in liaising with the RHDH team and promoting community engagement. This long-term internship will give you the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge about Red Hat’s business and the open source culture.

Red Hat’s Intern Program is a collaborative effort between the Emerging Talent team and our intern managers. The program is designed to offer a meaningful and well-rounded experience — combining professional development, networking opportunities, social engagement, and impactful work. This is a paid internship based in our Brno office, typically lasting 12 months, with the possibility to extend up to 24 months. Interns work on average 20 hours per week, with flexible working hours, and the expected start date is July 1st.

What you will do:

• Learn and understand the technologies involved

• Contribute to upstream projects by submitting and reviewing patches for bug fixes and feature requests

• Reproducing, analyzing, and verifying reported issues

• Actively engage with the community, respond to inquiries, and facilitate discussions

• Participate on a scrum team, representing the community perspective

What you will bring:

• You must be enrolled in a Czech university (Bachelor’s 3rd/4th year or Master’s) for the full internship duration and be able to work full-time within 2 years.

• Working knowledge of written and spoken English

• Experience with Typescript

• Experience with Git

• A passion for open source technologies

• Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to interact with a diverse community
