The cost analyst is responsible for monitoring standard costs in the ERP system and for the periodic updating of standard costs. They act as a key business partner to operational (plant) finance and work closely with internal clients of the cost accounting department, such as category finance, commercial finance, and financial analytics.

  • Salary range 004: $73 000 to 91 200$ (Salary will be determined based on skills, education, training & experience related to the position.)

 

Your role in achieving results:

 

  • Formula management: Create, update, and perform periodic reviews of formulas in integrated systems.

  • Raw material updates: Collaborate with the Cost Lead to update raw materials and follow up with plant controllers to annually adjust Bills of Materials (raw materials, ingredients, packaging).

  • Overhead cost tracking: Implement a tracking process with plant controllers for the annual update of manufacturing overhead costs (Plant, FSP, Depreciation).

  • Variance analysis: Identify, analyze, and explain variances between updates, linking them to clear and business-oriented explanations.

  • Cost analysis production: Produce various cost-of-goods analyses (new recipes, total production, dairy network impacts).

  • Pricing model management: Manage and optimize Cost+ pricing models.

  • Reporting and data integrity: Produce raw material reports and ensure data integrity across systems.

  • ERP project participation: Actively contribute to the understanding and development of new tools as part of the SAP ERP deployment.

What we are looking for to deliver these results:

  •  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent

  • CPA designation (an asset)

  • 3–4 years of experience in the manufacturing sector, finance, or cost accounting

  • Advanced Excel skills (SAP, Oracle)

  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills, ability to meet deadlines, autonomy, and curiosity

  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
