Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Multi-Domain Operations, and Missile Defense Integration Business Unit (BU) has an exciting career opportunity for a Software Engineer – Level 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Huntsville, AL.

Position Overview:

The selected Software Engineer will support the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) program as an individual contributor on the Architecture and Delivery (A&D) Automated Test and Verification (ATV) Team and is responsible for developing automation related SW development products in support of the GWS contract execution on behalf of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).

Essential Functions:  

  • You will build SW products assigned by your leadership related to test automation of requirement verification efforts at the system level
  • Develop software in an Agile environment
  • Develop and conduct testing in HWIL environment
  • Automate current manual test procedures

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 2 Years Experience; 0-2 Years Experience with Masters or with PhD.
  • Experience with components of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) - software design requirements, application development, integration, testing, or deployment
  • Professional software development experience using Python, Bash or similar languages
  • Familiarity with Agile software development using tools like Jira, Confluence, Fisheye/Crucible, and Bitbucket
  • Applicants must possess good communication skills
  • Capable of working both independently and within team environments
  • Applicants must be able to work on-site, in office
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs.
  • Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at the time of application which is required to start.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science discipline(s)
  • Experience developing technical solutions in collaboration with product teams
  • Experience in software development related to Test Automation
  • Experience using Jenkins and Eggplant
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum leadership roles such as Scrum Master or Product Owner
  • Current Security+ certification

Primary Level Salary Range: $87,600.00 - $131,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
