Travel Medical Assistant is a dependable, adaptable Medical Assistant to serve as the on-site clinical extension of our Remote Hands Diagnostic Imaging team. This role is critical to the success of our Remote Hands model, supporting real-time ultrasound exams under the guidance of a remote sonographer. This is a Part-time Travel position, benefits eligible. Must reside in the greater Dallas Area. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a Medical Assistant role QUALIFICATIONS: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred Previous experience in ultrasound, radiology, or vascular/echo labs strongly preferred Ability to follow detailed instructions in a remote/virtual environment Strong communication skills and comfort working with telehealth technology High level of adaptability, critical thinking, and attention to detail Basic understanding of medical terminology and imaging workflows Commitment to patient-centered care and professionalism. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Willingness and ability to travel to assigned clinical sites as needed Flexible schedule, including potential daytime hours aligned with different time zones (e.g., Pacific Time) Reliable transportation Comfortable working independently on-site while being remotely supervised Proficiency with basic computer systems and mobile technology Necessary SKILLS:
- Ability to be instructed in the operation of various ultrasound equipment.
- Ability to maintain quality control standards.
- Ability to work independently with minimal to no supervision.
- Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff at client facilities, management and peers.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills including the ability to manage interactions with people in difficult, stressful situations.
- Excellent communication skills. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist remote sonographers/clinicians during ultrasound examinations via telehealth technology Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures, including proper positioning, draping, and education Verify and confirm test orders, patient identity, and exam requirements prior to procedures Operate as the on-site extension of the remote clinical team, following real-time instructions accurately and efficiently Apply ultrasound gel, assist with probe placement guidance, and support image acquisition as directed Ensure patient comfort, safety, and privacy throughout the exam process Maintain clear and professional communication with remote providers and onsite staff Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies before and after procedures Adhere to all clinical protocols, compliance standards, and infection control guidelines Document patient interactions and assist with workflow coordination as needed Other duties as assigned SUPERVISION: Position reports to Clinical Services Coordinator / TeleDiagnostic Operations Manager TECHNICAL SKILLS: Requires knowledge of facility ultrasound equipment and performance requirements.
