Laundry Washperson (Full-time)

As a Laundry Washperson, you will assist in the daily Laundry Department operation to ensure our guests and colleagues feel special.  The care you put into properly processing the linens, terry and uniforms will be felt by our guests and our colleagues.

Hourly Rate:  $27.27

What you will be doing:

• Operate industrial washers and dryers to facilitate the cleaning of colleague uniforms and in-house and guest laundry as required
• Sort incoming linens, terry and uniforms
• Conduct monthly linen inventories to ensure proper par is maintained.
• Operate commercial dryers, commercial washing machines, folders, steamers and other equipment as required
• Set aside and report any damaged or marked linen
• Manual folding of various items
• Organize time so all side work is completed according to shift demand
• Maintain proper usage of cleaning supplies and equipment; report any malfunctioning equipment
• Must be flexible with your schedule – Able to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, overtime, and evening/overnights if needed

Schedule:  Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees are required to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, to accommodate the business and demands of the hotel. 

Your experience and skills include:

• Warm and caring personality; previous housekeeping or laundry experience an asset
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team with minimum supervision
• Ability to anticipate and focus attention on guest needs, being professional and welcoming
• Must have manual dexterity to be able to carry out essential functions, operate housekeeping devices and other cleaning equipment as needed
• Frequent walking and standing throughout shift
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent pushing and pulling up to 100 lbs.
• Occasional bending and kneeling
• Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
