Job description

Strategic Talent Sourcer

Description -

Location: Spring (Houston area), TX onsite 3 days per week

Join HP’s Strategic Talent Search team, an internal, high-impact group that operates like a retained search function within the business. This is not a high-volume sourcing role. This is precision talent mapping, market intelligence, and executive-level partnership.

We are looking for a highly skilled, research-driven sourcer who thrives on uncovering hard-to-find talent, building targeted pipelines, and influencing hiring strategies at the highest levels of the organization.

As a Strategic Talent Sourcer, you will partner closely with recruiters, hiring leaders, and HR to shape and deliver talent strategies for leadership, niche, and business-critical initiatives. You will be trusted as a subject matter expert in sourcing, bringing market insights, competitive intelligence, and creative approaches to attract top-tier, often passive, talent.

This role is ideal for someone who loves sourcing as a craft, takes pride in precision over volume, and enjoys solving complex talent challenges.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead targeted, high-impact sourcing efforts for leadership and niche roles where precision matters more than volume
  • Partner with recruiters and hiring leaders to consult on talent strategy, market landscape, and search approach
  • Conduct deep talent mapping and competitive intelligence to identify and engage top talent across industries
  • Build and maintain high-quality, curated pipelines for current and future business needs
  • Leverage advanced tools to uncover passive, hard-to-reach candidates
  • Develop innovative sourcing strategies tailored to each search, moving beyond traditional methods
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing insights on talent availability, competitor landscape, and hiring feasibility
  • Drive diverse talent pipelines through intentional and inclusive sourcing strategies
  • Support strategic hiring initiatives and projects, often spanning multiple roles or new areas of the business
  • Contribute to elevating sourcing capabilities across the team through best practice sharing and continuous improvement

What Sets This Role Apart

  • Work on high-visibility, business-critical searches including leadership and transformation roles
  • Be part of a team that values quality, strategy, and partnership over volume metrics
  • Influence hiring decisions through data, insights, and market expertise
  • Operate with a high level of autonomy and trust

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing or recruiting, with a strong emphasis on sourcing
  • Demonstrated expertise in LinkedIn sourcing and advanced search techniques
  • Proven success identifying and engaging passive talent for niche or hard-to-fill roles
  • Experience supporting executive or senior-level searches is highly preferred
  • Strong ability to consult and influence hiring managers and recruiters
  • Curiosity and skill in market research, talent mapping, and competitive analysis
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to translate business needs into sourcing plans
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and attract top talent
  • Comfort working in ambiguous, evolving environments with shifting priorities

Who You Are

  • You love sourcing and see it as both an art and a science
  • You prefer targeted, thoughtful outreach over high-volume activity
  • You are naturally curious and enjoy uncovering insights others miss
  • You bring a consultative mindset, not just execution
  • You take pride in delivering quality, not quantity
  • You are proactive, resourceful, and driven to solve complex talent challenges

If you’re looking to move beyond transactional recruiting and into a role where you can shape talent strategy, influence decisions, and work on meaningful searches, this is the opportunity to do it.
