Our Group Reporting team is small with wider impact. We’re a team of four working from different corners of the globe to pull together the "big picture" of how our company is doing.  The team members are based in India, Philippines, and the Netherlands. Since we collaborate so closely, we mainly work on European time (CET/GMT) to stay in sync.

We don’t work in a silo; we are constant collaborators who thrive on building relationships with Core Accounting, the Global Consolidation team, and leaders across various divisions


 

About the Role
 

The role is responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting to support the CFO and Group Reporting, including detailed analyses of the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow, and assisting in the monthly consolidation process. It prepares IFRS 15 revenue‑recognition memos, supports financial system improvement projects, and develops expertise in Hyperion reporting tools. The position manages hedge accounting, FX deals, and monthly FX analysis, and contributes to corporate transactions through value‑in‑use valuations, purchase price allocations, and acquisition memos. It prepares financial statement disclosures, conducts annual reviews of acquired intangibles and goodwill, and assists with investment and impairment evaluations. The role also oversees key SOX control procedures, performs compliance testing, supports audits, and handles data reconciliation across systems while contributing to budget and forecast submissions.


 

Responsibilities
 

- Prepare and provide accurate and timely detailed information for CFO report (primarily on the financial profit and loss account, summary balance sheet and cash flow

- Assist with the monthly consolidation process in a timely, accurate and controlled manner and distributing reporting communications to the internal stakeholders.

- Prepares accounting memo for the accounting treatment related to revenue recognition in alignment with IFRS 15.

- Provide support on adhoc projects that rely on Group Reporting expertise including projects to advance financial system capabilities

- Dealing satisfactorily with questions and providing speedy and reliable answers.

- Develop an expert knowledge of the Hyperion financial reporting systems

- Handles hedge, FX spot deals and analysis of FX on a monthly basis

- Covers acquisitions, mergers/divisionalisations and disposals of business and/or products.

- Perform value-in-use valuation for business/products

- Supports budget and forecast submissions -Involved in Purchase Price Allocation preparation and Acquisition memos

- Assist in file preparation for Investment and impairment review of Capdev Investment projects.

- Prepare disclosures for Financial Statements.

- Carry out annual review of Acquired Intangible assets and Goodwill.

- Manage Group reporting activities considered as with Key SOX control procedures. Ensuring the control is successful in preventing or detecting any material misstatements.

- Has been part of Elsevier SOX compliance management testing program for 3years. Independently testing assigned process and documenting the test procedures.

- Ensuring the control is successful in preventing or detecting any material misstatements.

- Assist in audit requests and queries Data reconciliation between systems


Requirements
 

- Must have degree in Accounting, CPA is preferred.

- Must have 3-5 years’ work experience. 

- Minimum of 1-2 years supervisory experience. 

- Excellent MS Excel skills.

- Experience with major enterprise accounting systems such as Oracle, SAP or PeopleSoft. 

- Experience in medium to large company environment. 

- Experience in business control is a plus

- Experience in large multinational company preferred
