Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee robust database management systems, ensuring adherence to standards, requirements, and quality assurance protocols for database deliverables.
- Collaborate with clients to transform business needs into accurate logical models that represent the flow of data effectively.
- Create and maintain database frameworks that convert logical models into physical models, including schema creation, screen designs, table structures, and report generation.
- Provide recommendations to enhance operational efficiency, address storage requirements, evaluate vendor software updates, and enforce data governance.
- Engage in quality assurance initiatives and develop application code for client-server environments.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience with complex database systems and data warehousing solutions.
- Expertise in database design, architecture, and data modeling.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL programming and query optimization techniques.
- Strong familiarity with database management systems such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Experience in tuning, indexing, and optimizing database queries.
- Ability to write and troubleshoot intricate SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
- Understanding of Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes and tools (e.g., SSIS, Informatica, Talend).
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and backup/recovery processes.
- Experience with database security, user roles, and managing permissions.
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation tasks.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork capabilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality output.
- Effective time management and multitasking skills.
- Deep understanding of business processes and requirements gathering.
- Mentoring experience for junior developers is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Eight (8) or more years of professional experience in SQL development and database management.
- Experience with Electronic Data Interchange X.12 (EDI) Medical Claims.
- Familiarity with T-SQL within a high-paced DevOps environment.
- Experience with remote U.S.-based teams.
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Knowledge of cloud database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
