Job Summary
Summary<br>Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the sterile processing department in a healthcare facility.<br><br>Does this position require Patient Care?<br>No<br><br>Essential Functions<br>-Oversee the daily operations of the sterile processing department, including staffing, workflow management, and resource allocation. <br>-Ensure the timely receipt, inspection, decontamination, and processing of instruments and equipment from the operating rooms or other departments. <br>
-Monitor and maintain compliance with sterilization standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices. <br>
-Coordinate and manage the inventory of sterile supplies, including receiving, inspecting, restocking, and tracking items. <br>
-Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to sterile processing technicians. <br>
-Collaborate effectively with surgical teams, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure instrument availability and meet patient care needs. <br>
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Licenses and Credentials
Certified Registered Central Service Technician [CRCST] - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) preferred
Experience
Experience as a Central Sterile Technician, with demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience. 3-5 years required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of sterile processing principles, practices, and infection control standards.
- Proficiency in handling instrument assembly, packaging, and sterilization processes.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in computer systems and software used in sterile processing.
