Job description
If you are studying Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical) and want to join a community of innovative technologists, BlackLynx, a Jacobs Company, is the perfect place for you! Our Summer Intern Program is designed to provide you with hands-on experience as you collaborate with talented teams to develop technical capabilities and exciting new tools while enjoying a vibrant intern community.
Established in 2018, BlackLynx unites Subject Matter Experts across three product lines to address emerging commercial needs and Intelligence Community (IC) requirements.
We have multiple teams with distinct focuses
- Modeling and Simulation Team: Join us as an aerospace/software engineer to assist in testing and deploying a full-stack custom tool suite for modeling next-generation capabilities (Python-based). Benefit from the mentorship of Intelligence Community experts in a dynamic environment.
- Spacecraft Design Team: Contribute as an ADCS/aerospace engineer in the development of an in-house product centered on ADCS/GNC simulation, orbital mechanics, and space phenomena. Experience with MATLAB/Simulink is valued as you collaborate with an energetic team in working with embedded systems and software.
- Sensor Processing Team: Get involved as a computer scientist or computer/electrical engineer to develop and thoroughly test next-generation software and electronic hardware systems, including applications in AI, signal processing, design of circuit cards, FPGA-based digital logic, and embedded software. Collaborate with IC community experts in an exciting workspace.
As a part of BlackLynx, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects and tackle real-world challenges while enjoying the benefits of a larger corporate structure.
This is a paid internship that offers full-time work for a limited duration, compensated hourly. Qualifications include:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Onsite availability in Chantilly, VA or Rockville, MD
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering from an accredited institution with an expected graduation date in 2027 or 2028
