Electrical Engineer

Paradigm Consulting Engineers is seeking a full-time electrical designer or engineer.

Qualifications

• Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Revit
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with coworkers and clients
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
• Working knowledge of MEP systems and building construction
• Working knowledge of National Electrical Code and ICC Building Codes

Job Duties

• Interpret applicable building codes and applicable standards.
• Design commercial and industrial electrical power systems.
• Prepare power plans, lighting plans, panel schedules, and single line diagrams.
• Specify electrical equipment including switchboards, panelboards, transformers, etc.
• Size feeders and branch circuit conductors.
• Perform electrical load calculations.
• Layout fire alarm devices based on NFPA 72.
• Produce design drawings, sketches, and schedules utilizing AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Review submittals and shop drawings.
• Perform engineering field activities, including surveying existing conditions and construction observation.
• Coordinate work with other disciplines, including architectural, structural, mechanical, and plumbing.
