Position Summary

We are seeking a creative and motivated Communications Specialist to help shape the voice and branding of the newly established Division of General Internal Medicine (GIM). This is a unique opportunity for an early-career professional to help build the division’s communications infrastructure from the ground up while working with a collaborative team of faculty and staff.
In this role, you will support the execution of communications and marketing efforts that enhance the division’s visibility. Responsibilities include maintaining web content, creating newsletters, and developing internal and external marketing materials that highlight clinical, educational, and research initiatives. You will work with stakeholders to produce content across digital and print platforms while helping manage timelines and deliverables.
This position is ideal for a recent graduate eager to make an impact and grow professionally in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, resourceful, and creative, with an interest in storytelling and design. Candidates should submit a resume along with examples of creative work.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Partner with internal teams and staff to carry out day-to-day communication and marketing tasks that support engagement and relationship-building efforts.

  • Create and deliver content across multiple channels, including website updates, newsletters, emails, social media posts, print materials, signage, and event support. Follow established workflows to move projects from draft to final, including coordinating reviews and approvals.

  • Track project timelines and keep materials organized to ensure deliverables are completed on schedule. Assist with basic budget tracking as needed.

  • Support content development such as writing, editing, and formatting marketing materials, as well as contributing to video and digital projects.

  • Help gather information and feedback to evaluate communication efforts and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Provide general support on communications and marketing projects as needed.

Salary Range

$45,600.00 - $75,300.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
